Freshly printed from Atlas Printing Works on Tuesday afternoon is Cootamundra Local History Society’s newest book.
Titled ‘Streets, Parks & Sites of Interest in Cootamundra’, it was the late great Pat Caskie that did most of the research as well as coming up with the initial concept.
It explores the history behind the naming of all our streets and parks, plus some sites of interest.
The former Cootamundra Citizen of the Year started writing in the early 2000s and completed most of the work during her spare time.
According to Jim Paskie, Pat wrote it all herself, although Society member Betti Punnett helped tweaked a few things along the way.
The book was almost completed two years ago when Pat passed away but prior to that she left a note of instructions for Jim.
Books will be on sale at the launch this Saturday at 2pm at Jubilee Park, the cost will be $15. The rest of the books will be available from the Cootamundra Newsagency and Bradman’s Birthplace after this weekend.
