“Stockinbingal Pastoral Co of Wetherby” Wallendbeen has won the 2021 Wallendbeen Wheat Crop Competition with a crop of Condo variety, estimated to yield 8.9 tonnes to the hectare (T/ha). This crop was awarded 247 points by the judge Andrew Daly of Cootamundra. Second was Bob Scott of “Hillview,” also a crop of Condo variety, estimated to yield 9.2 T/ha with 246 points.
Third place was Cameron Hazlett of “Braeside” again, Condo variety, estimated to yield 8.92 T/ha with 240 points. The “seed Purity- Trueness to Type” award, went to “Wallendoon East.” Their crop of Coolah in fourth place, was estimated to yield 8.5 T/ha and was awarded 239 points.
From the ten entries in the competition, eight of the crops were estimated to yield over eight tonnes per hectare which was a great result.
