As we enter Autumn it can only mean one thing.
Winter sport is gearing up, with football of all codes ready to retake the sporting field for the 2022 season.
The Cootamundra Junior Soccer Club are no different, with the club currently seeking and welcoming registrations of new and returning plays.
The Cootamundra Junior Soccer Club caters for children from 5 years of age all the way up to 16 years. The Under 14’s Striker’s boys have already started training, commencing last week and are ready and pumped to take on the challenging teams in the Wagga competition this season.
Mark Mills, coach of last year’s combined under 11, 12 and 13’s Cootamundra South West Slopes Credit Union (SWSCU) premiership team will be hoping to chase premiership success with his side again this season.
The Cootamundra SWSCU side’s last game of the season was against the ‘Hard Guns’ resulting in a 1-1 draw, which gave them enough points to finish first on the table and secure the premiership.
The season went for 11 rounds, with Coota SWSCU winning 8, losing 2, and drawing just the one, finishing the season with 34 points, with a goal difference of 39.
The Coota SWSCU won the championship by two points over the Coota Croplands side, in what was a tight end to the season.
