Cootamundra’s own Coota Crafty Super Ladies have been a new revelation in town since beginning just a few months ago, but they have already made quite a substantial impact.
The group are this year preparing a community Christmas tree that will be decorated with various crochet knitting squares and will go on display in the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club window.
This week, Mark Campbell from Spinifex completed the steel Christmas tree frame which the crochet squares will decorate, with organiser of the craft group Diane Bray picking it up.
On Monday’s Coota Crafty Super Ladies meeting, the women had their first chance to see the steel framed Christmas tree in person, with decorating now well underway before December’s timeline.
All the ladies in the group we’re quite excited to get started working on the community Christmas tree which will be a fabulous creation once complete.
The Coota Crafty Super Ladies are also currently holding a fundraising raffle, with all proceeds going to Can Assist Cootamundra.
Tickets for the raffle start at $2 per ticket and can be purchased from the Ex-Services Club and Jule’s Sub Store. The raffle will be drawn by Kate Lonergan next Monday, 16 May, at their morning tea. Prizes for the raffle have been kindly donated by Jule’s Sub Store, The Loft, CW Jewellers, Gundagai Craft Store, Elizabeth Anne Florist.
