Corey Nicholson in a past winter game at the ground. The Tri Colours will no doubt use the lack of drainage available on Country Club Oval to their advantage in what will likely be a forwards orientated game against Harden on Saturday The Cootamundra Tri-Colours will be looking to add yet another win to their 2022 campaign this Sunday when they play host to the Harden Red Devils.
When the two teams played earlier this season, the Tri-Colours ran out convincing winners in a good contest 16-0. Plenty of games have been played since the two sides first met, though the ladder remains similar. The Tri-Colours are clear of the competition standing alone at the top. Whilst the Red Devils are clinging to third place with the Boorowa Goldies also on 34 points sitting behind them in fourth, right on the Red Devil’s tail.
The Tri-Colours are looking short odds to hoist yet another South West Fuels Cup Grand Final trophy. With their defence seeming to be all but unbreakable, conceding just 22 points over the eight games played. The Tri-Colours continue to be the cream of the crop when it comes to teams in the South West Fuels Cup. The gap between them and the rest of the South Wests Fuels Cup is obvious, though the gap will be all the more obvious after this fortnight when they play the 2nd and 3rd placed teams if they execute the way coach Mitch Wakeford wants them to.
The Tri-Colours have victories over both teams already this season and an undefeated fortnight would likely see them have a perfect regular season. The team will look to bury the Devils newly found momentum in the mud at Country Club Oval. It will be a forwards orientated game with field position and the boot of Matt Berkrey coming in to play. There’s a strong possibility the game could be a preview of a finals game, or even the grand final. Coach of the Cootamundra Tri-Colours Mitch Wakefield will be sure to make the men know how important the game is. Always professional are our Tri-Colours. They’ll know the stakes already and will be ready to dismantle the Red Devils.
Kick-off 3:15pm
