Isaiah Pulleine is a Bulldog on the rise after being selected in the u18s Laurie Daley Cup side.
Bulldogs Coach David Buttriss spoke with the Times recently to outline how the club has been going with its preseason preparations.
He said, “Numbers have been really good at training so far this year and more so the best thing is the attitude that everyone is coming down with.
“We are really building a strong culture here and the work ethic has been great. There’s a good contingent of players back from the George Tooke squad and some fresh faces and the Club has also made some pretty big signings as well.

“The team is coming together really well and we couldn’t be happier. Obviously landing some marquee signings with our two front rowers and Sam Gash coming back.
“The local boys that we have here are so determined. They have been together for a few seasons now and they are all getting a little bit older which is great and that is going to help with that step up into Group 9 this year.

“Just the way things are going at the Club we have managed to attract a few more local boys that have been around for a while and want to come back and get around it.
“We had the Golf Day and it is always a good day. This year was the most numbers we’ve ever had and everyone just hung around and had a great time together.

“We have a trial on March 15 and are heading up to Wyong as they are the new major sponsor and have done some great things to help us get back into Group 9. We will be taking a bus up with a 24 man squad and will play against one of their teams.
“I think the way it is going to work is Wyong also own Goulburn Bulldogs and Woolgo-olga. Goulburn will play their Denman Cup and Woolgoolga and us will play a mix of their Firsts and Seconds.

“All the boys are looking forward to the trip. We are going to head up for two nights and Wyong are going to put on a bit of a season launch after all the footy is played. It should be great.
“Two weeks after that we will be hosting the Junee Diesels here at Les Boyd Oval with an all grades trial.

“Junee and Coota have always had that bit of a grudge match. What sort of brought us together was the passing of Terry Douglas. He was a Coota Bulldogs junior and then he played five or six seasons at Junee. I think he was the captain of the Reserve Grade team when they won the comp.
“After his passing we’ve brought together a Terry Douglas Cup that we are going to play for. It will be a good one to all get together in memory of Terry.”
