Cootamundra obliged by scoring a solid 140 runs from 51.3 overs.
The home side then bowled the vistors for 94. Their innings lasted 40.4 overs.

Batting for Cootamundra Jack Caldwell who was promoted to open, top scored with 43. Fellow Stockinbingal batsman Nick Holt also showed his class. Nick remained 41 not out. Holt and Caldwell added 28 runs for the fourth wicket.

As has been the case in previous matches, Cootamundra’s tail did not wag, losing their last five wickets for just 12 runs.

Junee spinners Isaac Cooper and Nathan Charlton did the bulk of the bowling. Cooper with his off spinners captured 4/40 from 19 overs, while Charlton with his leg spinners, snared 4/60 from 15.3 overs. Junee’s fielders let down their bowlers as they dropped five catches.
When the Cootamundra innings finished, one of the Junee cricketers was heard to say, ‘they are about 60 short”.
After lunch Junee set about scoring 141 runs for victory. The visitors got away to a terrible start as they crashed to be 3/12 in the 11th over. Scott Nicoll top scored with 24 while Jono Nicoll made a fine 23.

The Cootamundra three quicks done the damage. David Garness was at brilliant best capturing 2/13 from 10 overs. Josh Purtell 2/24 while skipper Joel Pearson returned the best figures of 3/17.
Since taking the Hedditch Cup off Temora last February, the locals have now defended the cup three times. They have defeated Tumut-Gundagai, Griffith and Junee. Cootamundra final defence of the cup for this season is against Temora on Sunday 23 February. With over 60ml of rain over the past week, the Cootamundra sporting fields have received a new lease of life.
