Joel Pearson captain of Cootamundra hands over the Hedditch Cup to Temora captain Brady Oliver.
Harvey Holt takes 6-33 but Cootamundra falls at last hurdle
Cootamundra opening bowler Harvey Holt has bowled the spell of the season so far finishing with 6-33 on Sunday representing Cootamundra in the Hedditch Cup V Temora.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get his side over the line as they fell short by one wicket in one of the closest games of cricket, seen at Albert Park for many years. Skipper Joel Pearson won the toss and had no hesitation in batting again.

Cootamundra found it hard going for the entire innings as they were bowled out for 67. Luke Berkrey showed resilience top scoring with a very valuable 30 runs batting at number 3. Other than that Joey Pall batting at number 7 tried to get things going before being caught on the boundary scoring a hard fought 9.
A highlight of the game was the fielding of the Temora side with three great catches that kept the Cootamundra Batsman on the back foot. Coota was bowled out for 67 in the 35th over.

Joel Pearson took the new ball once again and took the first wicket in his first over to breathe life into the contest and from there it was Harvey Holt who got into his work from the top end as he bowled Cootamundra in a position to still be in the contest.
The big wicket was the one of Jack Harper, who the week before smacked 120 for Wagga in the O’Farrell cup. Harper walked down the wicket and lofted Holt over Mid off for one bounce four. It would be Holt who would get the last laugh as he dropped back his length the very next delivery to have Harper playing on to his own stumps and Cootamundra back in the game.

The Temora tail held strong as the experience of Patrick Robinson and Adam Swanston got the team home with one wicket to spare. Pearson finished with two wickets and Jack Caldwell was brought on late and got a wicket of his own.
Harvey Holt did all he could to win the game for Coota but Temora were just too good in the end as the took the Cup home.
