Garden Club members put their best foot forward on Saturday 21st June when they celebrated their 65th Birthday combined with their annual Winter Luncheon.
Visiting garden clubs from Temora, Young garden Club, Cherry Blossom Garden Club and Yass Garden Club with apologies from Cowra and Canowindra helped them celebrate.
Special quest was Sue Mowle who is the Zone Co-Ordinator for NSW & ACT, Garden Clubs of Australia Inc. Sue spoke a bit about Garden Clubs of Australia what they are about and the quarterly magazine. Sue also reminded members of the Biannual conference which is being held in Albury 13th to 18th October 2025 and encouraged members to attend.
On conclusion Sue presented President Fr Bill with a certificate of Achievement. We were also pleased to have our Zone Co-Ordinator for SW Slopes Helenie Carmody attending. Helenie was unwell earlier this year so it was pleasing to see her able to attend.
President Fr Bill was the perfect host greeting visitors and making them feel welcome. Betti was MC on the day and kept the party rolling. With one bit of light frivolity that got the whole room involved everyone joined in the fun.
Members excelled themselves with a delicious spread of casseroles and accompaniments followed by an assortment of mouthwatering desserts. The day was a great success.
Garden Club will meet next on Sunday 20th July 2pm at Dickson Hall, visitors are always welcome. Floral Art for July is Dry But Not Dull (dried arrangement). For more information contact Marj 0423 145 276.
