The Carpet Court Triples were successfully held over the weekend, showcasing some fantastic bowling despite challenging conditions.
Saturday’s Rounds
On Saturday, despite some inclement weather, we managed to complete all three rounds with great spirit and determination from all participants.Section 1 Winners: Tony Palombi, John Cooper, and Robert Anderson – 2½ wins, +13 ends differential.
Section 2 Winners: Bob New, Bill Robertson (Temora), and Adam New – 2 wins, +5 ends differential.
Section 3 Winners: Graeme Dennis, Mark Paterson, and Russell King – 3 wins, +49 ends differential.
Section 4 Winners: Bill Manwaring, John Goggin, and Terry McDonald – 2 wins, +26 ends differential.
These top-performing teams advanced to the premier Section A on Sunday.

Highlight Match 1:
Kerry Ryan and John Bell looked comfortable leading 19-9 with just six ends remaining against Phil Ager and Peter McInerney. However, a remarkable comeback saw Ager and McInerney surge ahead to 22-19, holding three shots on the final end for a potential extra end.
With the pressure on, Kerry Ryan (a talented left-hander) delivered a perfect bowl like a true professional, landing right on the kitty to secure the win 23-19. A nail-biting finish!Highlight Match 2:
Graeme Dennis and Des Guthrie trailed for most of their game but fought back brilliantly, scoring two counts of 3 over three ends to take an 18-17 lead after 21 ends against John Priestley and Paul Cockram.
Priestley and Cockram regained the lead at 19-18 going into the last end and were holding shots for the win. But with his final bowl, Dennis unleashed a ‘menace’ – perfectly striking the jack and carrying it back to their own bowls, claiming five shots for an unforgettable victory!These dramatic endings are what make lawn bowls such a captivating sport. Well played to everyone involved!
