The Cootamundra Lions Club have delivered on yet another Christmas Carnival on November 29 at Fisher Park from 5:00 pm. The grounds were filled with food, market stalls, lion train, jumping castles, rides, face painting and plenty for both the kids and adults to enjoy.
Peter Lott of the Lions Club said, “There was a good crowd, it was a good vibe. Everyone was hooked in and made it happen.
“The fireworks were fantastic. They were really good in terms of the colours and the display there. In terms of a venue, it doesn’t get much better than being able to see them there.
“We had plenty of the schools down there and kids participating, and we had dance groups. It was all happening; there were plenty of shows, and there were plenty of rides.
“The weather held off for us, which was probably one of the main things. It was showering rain in the morning, so we had to hold off our set-up until we got going.
“It was all good, it was happy days.
“The Hospital Auxiliary ran the gate, and they did a good job, and there should be some good donations that come out of that for the local community.
“It’s community involvement, it’s community participation, and it’s good that everyone gets involved and makes it happen and supports it.
“It’s principally number one, actually having a good community activity that provides and supports the town.
“The fireworks were really good. They were amazing. Very good lights, there was plenty of red and greens for the Christmas theme, and it was one of the best venues for fireworks as it is just there, it’s all above you.”
Now they look forward to the Easter Carnival, which is sure to be another success.
