Coota Bulldogs Juniors Still Seeking Numbers, But Remain Strong Ahead of Season

The Coota Junior Bulldogs’ season is coming up quickly on April 18 as they gear up against Turvey Park.

Ripe and ready for the season, the team is already getting stuck into the preseason as they train for some important upcoming dates.

Despite being strong in plenty of areas, some grades are still looking for numbers.

President of the Club, Jimmy Gartside, said, “We’re all set, starting to get into training.”
“We got stuck into preseason early, but we are still recruiting for some age groups.
“There are a couple of Group 9 clubs struggling with numbers, so we’re always looking to boost numbers.”

Already looking competitive in most of their teams, Jimmy says they’ve got 190 registrations (slightly down from the previous town) but still a great number to represent the town.

They are also on the lookout for expressions of interest to join an under 16s girls’ league team.
Anyone, he says is welcome to join.

With some gala days on the horizon, Jimmy says a lot of hard work has gone into their committee in the lead up to the new season.

“We have our season launch on April 12, which will have sponsors, life members, players, coaches and our committee will be there to celebrate,” he said.

“Thanks for all the support we get to continue this Club.

“If anyone is interested, we are a great family Club and if anyone is interested, please give us a call.

We have a pups program which could give people insight into rugby league as well, if anyone was interested in checking that out.”

As for my thoughts from behind the pen, why not give it a go if you’re a Coota kid and want to give the sport a try?
