Residents and motorists are advised that Adams Street, Cootamundra, between Cutler Avenue and Northcott Avenue, will be closed to all traffic from Wednesday, 8 July onwards.
Due to concerns about the deteriorating condition of the causeway and the need to ensure public safety, the closure has been brought forward earlier than anticipated.
The road will remain closed for approximately six months until repair works are completed, and it is safe to reopen to traffic. During the closure, residents and vehicles under four tonnes are encouraged to use the detour via Cutler Avenue and Northcott Avenue.
Cootamundra-Gundagai council wishes to thank the community for their patience and cooperation, and urge motorists to please obey all traffic control signage as well as drive to road conditions.
