The Coota Blues are enjoying a dominant season, sitting second on the ladder with finals well within reach, but tough games are ahead, with some games against top teams still to be played.
The Blues also look forward to their Ball on July 11 at the Clubrooms, giving plenty to look forward to.
President of the Club, Rod Knagge, told the Coota Times just what’s in store for Coota Blues fans.
“We’ve won every game except one when we got beaten by a goal by the Southern Cats, who are a really strong team. We’re really happy with the competition. All the games have been competitive except a couple of early games.
“We’ve had an injury to Dan Conway, who’s our centre forward. He’s injured an ankle, so we’re missing him. We’re not sure what his prognosis is, but everything else is going well.
“The Ball looks like it’ll be well attended. We’ve got a home game against Woden coming up. Woden are a good side, we only beat them by a couple of goals in round one.
“We have a tough game against Googong, and we play our last game at home against Southern Cats, the only team that’s beaten us so far. We’re sitting second on the ladder, which we’re pretty happy with. Our goal is to finish in the top two, but it looks like it’s going to be a bit of a difficult journey there.
“Apart from Dan, we’ve got close to a full contingent. It just depends on how we play on the day.
“Our Ball is open to anybody on Saturday night. Bookings are online, and it’s been detailed on the Facebook page. It should be a good night.
“We just want to finish in the top two since it gives you a double chance. That’s what’s important about that. Every competition you play in, you play to win it. That’s our goal. We want to win the competition. We’re confident that we’ll be competitive in the finals and hope we don’t have injuries, but we’ll see how we go.”
Coota play Wooden at Clarke Oval on Saturday, so come support the Blues.
