The Arts Centre Cootamundra (TACC) recently announced its upcoming live theatre production, “Pull the Other One”.
The comedy, written by Norman Robbins, opens this Friday on 21st of August, with a full weekend of performances:
• 6.30pm on Friday, 21 August (commencing at 7.00pm),
• 6.30pm on Saturday, 22 August (commencing at 7.00pm),
• 12.30pm on Sunday, 23 August (commencing at 1.00pm).
A cast of eight local talents will bring to life the world of Albert Perkins, a man blessed with a loving wife Muriel and cursed with a fearsome mother-in-law Boadicea.
The story starts when Albert’s mysterious friend, Hilary Armitage, writes to him and reminisces on the good times they used to have together.
Albert’s mother-in-law, Boadicea, reads the letter and is determined to remove her daughter from his clutches.
Packed with hilarious themes of sex, betrayal and mistaken identity, the play highlights some of the lighter aspects of serious acting and promises to be a night to remember.
TACC Secretary, Eric Steinke, said, “The cast and crew are an enthusiastic and talented bunch; they’ve had such a blast [and are] saying this production is the first of many to come.”
Eric said TACC is hoping the production inspires locals to come and support the cast with a rousing round of applause and laughter.
“I am so glad to see the interest in live performance has been reinvigorated. We like to think at TACC we can provide space for locals to showcase their talents; whether that is through performance, designing costumes or set construction,” he said.
Eric now urges locals and visitors alike to come along and see live theatre blossom at TACC.
Tickets will be available to be purchased at the door for $20 each, or two tickets for $30.

The performance will last an approximate two hours with a 20-minute interval.
