Council Customer Service to reopen

OVID-19 UPDATE 22nd May 2020 – COUNCIL CUSTOMER SERVICE AREAS REOPEN

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC), customer service areas will reopen to the general public from 9am Monday 25 May 2020.

CGRC Mayor Cr Abb McAlister said with the easing of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was prudent to reopen with caution.

“We have been receiving updates from authorities and are acting on advice that with precautionary measures in place, we are able to open Council customer services areas. However I reiterate to residents please restrict your visits to those that are absolutely necessary,”

“There are a multitude of options for residents to pay rates and fees other than coming into the offices, we are able to answer questions and attend to enquiries via the phone and through email,” Cr McAlister said.

Council’s phones will continue to be staffed as normal. Residents are asked to call Council offices on 1300 459 689 or emailmail@cgrc.nsw.gov.au as an alternative to making personal visits to Customer Services Areas.

Council’s website has instructions on the payment of rates, and other Council fees either by phone or online.   Development applications can be submitted online through the NSW Government Planning Portal https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/onlineDA. The portal does have a ‘Your guide to the Development Application process’ information pack to guide applicants through the process. Council staff are also able to assist with questions over the phone or via email.

“The Coronavirus hasn’t vanished, I urge all residents to maintain social distancing and good hygiene practices, and if you are feeling unwell or have flu like symptoms please stay at home, your safety and the safety of our staff is paramount during this time,” Cr McAlister added.
