Campbell Cooper-Duck and Isaac Pratt from Cootamundra’s Cooper’s Couriers who pick up and deliver (Donate their time to the cause) donated goods from Canberra to Gloria’s back shed.
Gloria and her willing band of workers stopped delivering Farmer’s Packages when the Covid 19 brought LOCK DOWN. Once lock down was lifted calls were received for assistance. Cathy O’Brien, Kay Johnson and Gloria set to work. Michael and Elizabeth from the Salvation Army took two large loads of non-perishable food to people in need west of Lockhart. Then Cathy and Gloria delivered to Trundle and were delighted to see the dust bowl of some months before had become green and thus giving farmers out there HOPE for a better future! They had Marianne, a Liaison Officer with the Catholic Church, take supplies to Broken hill, Wilcannia and Menindee. Last week Cathy and Kay delivered to the storage point in Forbes for Marianne – from there packages have gone to Wilcannia and Peak Hill. Cootamundra Red Cross generously donated handbags with ‘nice things’ inside for ladies and these were excitedly received. Marianne is now making the long trek for us for the second time out to Wentworth. Our first delivery out there was so much appreciated that we received phone calls of thanks, some ladies in tears. Until farmers have recovered from the financial drought we will continue, with assistance from Cootamundra, Temora and Harden communities. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone.
