Singer Guy Sebastian and best friend Tim Freeburn embarked on a gruelling 500km walk from Wagga Wagga to Sydney on a mission to raise money for youth mental health.

Guy and Tim started their walk on Thursday, June 30 and visited Junee, Cootamundra and Harden on their way up north.

The pair are raising money for The Sebastian Foundation are hoping to raise $1 million which will put 35,000 kids through Open Parachute, a peer-to-peer in-school program to guide children through mental health issues and to navigate life.

The two best mates, along with their support crew of two, are just shy of reaching the $1 million mark, with the campaigning being well supported already.

Every $30 raised as Guy and Tim walk for ten days the 500kms from Wagga to Sydney, will enable another child to participate in the program and, ultimately, prevent more lives lost to mental health issues.

The Sebastian Foundation was founded in 2013 by the singer and his wife Jules Sebastian.

The foundation has provided many services in many areas including young girls, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, music therapy, mentoring programs for teenagers, women who have experienced domestic violence and more.

Suicide is the leading cause of death for young Australians and the challenges young people face in school, on social media and in navigating adolescence can be overwhelming.

Sebastian wants to make sure all young Australians are given the opportunity to learn the psychological skills that will enable them to best cope with these life challenges at an early stage.
