MLHD confirms exposure sites in Temora and Beckom linked to a positive case of COVID-19

A person from outside the district, who was working in Temora, visited locations in Temora and Beckom while potentially infectious on Monday 16 August and Tuesday 17 August.

The person was asymptomatic and is an essential worker who undergoes regular routine testing. They are now isolating outside of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Contact tracing has identified venues in Temora and Beckom.

Anyone who attended any of the venues listed on the specified dates and times are casual contacts and must get tested and isolate until a negative test result is received:

Venues are currently being assessed by the Public Health Unit to ensure accurate assessment of risk for staff, and to determine if any had close contact with the case. SMS messages will be sent to people who checked in with the QR code.

MLHD is also urging anyone in Temora or Beckom, or who has been in Temora or Beckom recently, to get tested if they have even the slightest of symptoms and isolate until they receive a negative result.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, sore throat and dry cough. Symptoms will generally appear 3-4 days after exposure to the virus but can be up to 14 days later.

Testing is available today in Wagga Wagga and MLHD will deploy mobile testing facilities tomorrow. Times and locations for mobile testing will be announced later today.
