Santa Photos at Ex-Services for Can Assist

The Cootamundra Ex-Services Club is offering jolly, professional Christmas pics with all funds going to Can Assist Cootamundra.

After the success of last year’s photos and the Christmas spirit of giving, Cootamundra Ex-Services Club is once again giving to Can Assist and providing Santa photos for the community.

Megan Sawyer, the Ex-Services Clubs Manager, said it won’t run much different from last year. “Pretty much the same, we’ll do a similar back drop,” she said.

“The sessions are $10 each and all money from those $10 sessions goes to Can Assist.

“They start the first one at 11am and they’re going through until the afternoon, there’s only about five spots left so if people are keen, they just have to give the club a call and we can book you in because the spots are filling quite quickly.

“We donated the proceeds last year to Can Assist, it’s something that we will do each year, we do other fundraising activities for other groups in town.

“At the moment, we have two shopping trolleys in our front reception. One trolley, we’re accepting donations for the Red Cross food bank so people can come in, if they’ve got non-perishable food in their pantry or something that they don’t need.

“They can come and drop it in to the trolley that’s in the front desk and the Red Cross Food Bank will put together Christmas hampers for people in town.

“We’ve also got another trolley in the foyer as well for the Cootamundra Crafty Super Ladies, they’re actually going to donate to the kids that are staying in hospital or don’t get a lot of presents over Christmas.

“You can actually purchase a Christmas gift and leave it in in another trolley that we have down here at reception as well.”

The Cootamundra Ex-Services also wanted to extend a thank you to Gil Kelly, who will be volunteering to play Santa for the photos all throughout the day.
