The Cootamundra Blues finals campaign will continue into next week after they defeated the Googong Hogs yesterday.
For the first time this season, the Blues controlled the game from start to finish to run out winners 12.10.82 to 3.5.23.
In a fiery clash and with their 2020 campaign on the line, the Blues put in their best performance of the season so far.
With a strong breeze blowing straight down the ground, the Blues were ruthless in defence and made the most in attack when they had the breeze at their backs.
The Blues were well served by their key forwards with Sandy Maskell-Knight, Brenton Roberts and Zac Oliver all kicking multiple goals.
Dylan McDermott was at his electric best, winning possessions all over the ground.
Sam Baldock was also monstrous in the ruck, winning hit outs as well as playing a vital role through the middle of the ground.
The win sees the Blues book a date with the Woden Blues who went down to the ANU Griffins in Saturday’s major final. The winner will book their ticket to the AFL Canberra Division 3 grand final.
