Margaret Large after cutting the ribbon.
Last Thursday, Coota residents flocked to the opening of the Cootamundra Co-Op after years of planning, fundraising and building had finally culminated in the grand opening of the store owned by the community and to be operated for the community.
Fostering a culture of healthy competition, collaboration and, of course, cooperation, the Coota shop hit an important milestone when member and local Margaret Large cut the ribbon and officially opened the store on the morning of the shop opening.
Margaret Large was absolutely honoured to be involved in the way she was.
“What an honour and privilege, really and truly. It’s been a big long haul for the board and the members and they have achieved something. I hope people have a great experience shopping here and keep money in the town which is important,” she said.
