Tri Colours Perfect Season

The Cootamundra Tri-Colours have been dominant to say the least over the past season. This was perfectly encapsulated when they blew-out the Boorowa Goldies on Saturday 32-0.

Shockingly this was one of the closest games the side have played all year.

With a scoreline like that, you’d presume the Goldies were some type of pushover team that were dwelling at the bottom of the ladder. You’d be wrong to assume that.

Tough as the Boorowa Goldies are and one of the competition’s best sides, at the time of the flogging were sitting in 3rd place.

Co-coach Mitch Wakeford was full of praise for the Goldies and is excited for his side’s clash versus the Young Yabbies.

“Boorowa gave us a tough physical match, especially in the first half.

They actually had quite a lot of ball and territory in the first half and we had to absorb a lot of pressure,” said Mitch.

“To the credit of our team. We were very calm and composed, especially in defence, they definitely threw everything at us.”

“To go in at halftime 12-0 it was very pleasing as a coach to know that we we didn’t let them and didn’t fault under pressure.” “We’ve worked really hard on our defence throughout the entire season, to the point where now when we make a mistake in our own half. I remain pretty confident that we won’t concede.

“Young always give us their best shot, they’re a quality side. On their day they can beat anyone, we’re pretty confident if we’re at our best we will win, especially at home.”

The winner of the Tri-Colours vs Yabbies game will get themselves a one way ticket to the Grand-Final, whilst the loser will play against the winner of the Red Devils versus Goldies game.

The game kicks off at 2pm according to the Central Wests Rugby Website. Though the Men’s games are traditionally played at 3pm. The game will be on this Saturday at the Coota Country Club Oval.
